The ski season has started and here at Bundle HQ, we're dreaming of hitting the slopes!
Travelling light isn't really an option for a ski trip, and a few new pieces of clothing or some home comforts for the chalet can make a family holiday. We've met some fantastic small ski brands whilst Bundling at events around the UK and here are some of our top picks to pop in your suitcase if you're off to the mountains this season. They might even help to spark some gift ideas for last minute Christmas shopping!
Our clothing favourites...
Snow Finel
Snow Finel make the ideal layers for under your ski wear to keep you warm on the slopes. We saw them exhibiting at Spirit of Christmas, and fell in love with their fab colours and unique designs. One of our faves was the Ladies Grey and Pink mid-layer, £120.
Alexski
Hand stitched in Milan, these gloves have super cosy New Zealand Possum fur lining and are the ultimate gift for the style conscious skier. We like to think that we have good taste, but if you need someone else's opinion then HRH Duchess of Cambridge has been spotted on the slopes in a pair of their Black Ski Mittens, £325...
Miss Pom Pom
We're fans of a helmet on the slopes, but for apres ski, a good hat is essential. Another brand that we met at Spirit of Christmas was Miss Pom Pom who have a similar colour palette to our Bundle Beds - so we instantly fell in love! They also have the most gorgeous thick oversized scarfs, a favourite being the Triangle Scarf, £39. A must have to keep you warm during apres ski drinks.
Jumper 1234
Whether you're heading back out to the bars, or just want something comfy and cosy for a chalet night in, these jumpers are perfect. Designed in London and made in Mongolia, they feel gorgeous and have some really fab patterns to choose from in their range. We'd happily drift off to sleep in their Shooting Star Crew, £195.
A few comforts for the chalet...
Sipsmith Sloe Gin
Our chief Bundler Lucy might be a bit biased, having worked for Sipsmith before Bundle Beds, but we're struggling to find a better tipple for the skiing hip flask. It's also amazing added to a G&T with a slice of orange, or popped in the top of a glass of bubbles to give it a festive twist. Sipsmith Sloe Gin 50cl, £25.
So Cosy Blankets
Whether you opt for the merino, alpaca or pure wool option (we love the Folki design, £79 ), these rugs are 'So Cosy'. An ideal blanket to take to your chalet to snuggle under after a hard day on the slopes.
Bundle Beds
After a busy day on the slopes and a few cheeky drinks at apres ski, a good night's sleep is an essential ingredient in the skiing holiday recipe. If you're after a super comfy yet compact solution for those tag-along friends and family on a ski trip, then Bundle Beds are your answer. Shove them in the back of the car or put them into the overhead locker and you're sure of a decent night's kip wherever you roll it out...
And for a bit of fun...
There's always that one friend who suggests fancy dress on the slopes, and it can be difficult to come up with easy ideas. We've found a couple of eye-catching pieces that fit the bill...
Tell Tails
Tell Tails are the solution! They are easy enough to pack, look brilliant and will have you 'swooshing' down the slopes in serious style. Both adult and kids tails available, so the whole family can get involved! Perhaps you could even show off with a 360 in a Ballerina-saurus tail, £22.40 !
Fanski Dress
If you're going to do it, then you could go all out and get yourself an all-in-one animal ski suit! They do have some pretty fetching helmet covers if you're not ready to go the whole hog... Perhaps the Moose cover, £24.95?
